FAQ

  • I have a small business in Columbus. Can you handle our IT needs?

Yes. I hold industry-standard certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+) that qualify me to manage small business devices and security protocols. From setting up secure employee workstations with BitLocker encryption to upgrading the existing systems in your infrastructure, I provide enterprise-level knowledge with the personal availability of a local consultant.

  • Do you only build Gaming PCs?

Not at all. I love to build high-end gaming/streaming rigs (such as "Whiteout" or "Sakura" in my portfolio), but a significant portion of my business is Professional IT Services. I build/upgrade office workstations, roll out laptop fleets for small businesses, and rejuvenate older family computers. If it has a power button and a CPU, I can make it shine.

  • I’m not "tech-savvy." Will you explain things so I can understand?

Of course. In fact that's my expertise. I've been working in consumer electronics since 2015 and noticed most of the frustration is caused by technicians who speak in technical jargon. I consider myself a teacher first and a technician second. I will explain all the technical terms into simple English so you know exactly what you’re buying, how to use it, and how to keep it running smoothly.

  • Why should I choose Agent K over buying a pre-built PC from a big-box store?

Buying a PC from one of the big box stores generally means you're paying for a brand name and "proprietary" parts which are a pain to upgrade in the future. You also end up with a boatload of bloatware (software you didn't ask for) to bog you down. The Agent K Difference: I use standard components with no compromises in quality or upgrade-ability. I don't have the huge overhead costs of a national chain so I can spend more of your money on graphics and speed instead of corporate markup.

  • You mention offering "Personal Shopping." How does that work?

This is a "white-glove" service for your convenience. Need a new computer, monitor or office configuration but don't know what to purchase (or simply don't have the time to drive all over town) let me do it for you. The Process:

Consultation: Talk about your needs and budget over the phone or via email.

Procurement: I drive to local stores to pick out and purchase the equipment, making sure it all plays well together.

Delivery & Setup: I deliver the equipment to your home or office, set it all up and configure it exactly the way you need. The Cost: Pay the actual shelf price of the items plus a flat % markup (to cover credit card processing fees) and my standard service fees for the work. You get the receipts, the warranties and the solution without ever leaving your home.

  • What if I already bought my own parts? Can you still build it?

Absolutely. If you prefer to hunt for your own deals or already have a pile of components waiting to be assembled, I am happy to provide just the assembly and configuration service. I can even review your parts list before you buy to ensure everything is compatible. Whether I buy the parts or you do, the build quality and attention to detail remain the same.
